
A Small Country for a Great Vacation
Countless historic stone cities, warm clear seas, magnificent olive oil and splendid wines make the Croatian Coast the Mediterranean as it used to be
Until recently the slogan of the Croatian Tourism Association ran the same as our title – “A small Country for a Great Vacation”. Although now discarded by the Tourism Association, it seems ideal for presenting Croatia in a few words.
Although very small, due to its unusual shape Croatia has a very long and highly indented coast with a thousand islands. Along the coast there are numerous historic cities, presenting nowdays some of the most sought after tourist destinations in the world.
From Rovinj, Poreč and Pula in the Istria Peninsula, through Zadar and Šibenik in the Mid Adriatic, then on to Trogir and Split in the heart of Dalmatia and finally all the way down to the elite area of Cavtat at the very south – Croatia allures with its beauty. |
And close to all these beautiful cities there are countless tiny stone places that make the Croatian coast nowdays, the Mediterranean as it used to be.
That very Mediterranean – spirited, adventurous, hospitable and with supreme culinary delicacies and wines - allures each guest who decides to spend part of his or her vacation there.
Besides the historic cities and exotic islands, visitors are charmed by the warm clear seas, far more beautiful it is claimed than on the opposite Italian coast! And besides this, Dalmatian cookery is among the healthiest in the world, inviting anyone to give up their present nutrition habits and experience the joys of plentiful seafood, magnificent olive oil, excellent cheese and wine. And for choosing dessert, the information that Croatia is one of the five countries in the world offering the best in chocolate!
