Millions of square meters
with five stars

The “Brijuni rivijera” Project includes also the area of Veli Brijun with the National park in which the building will not be allowed. But an International contest for the Concession will be bidden for 670 thousand square meters, upon which matter the Ministry of Culture shall be in charge in the future

At the very south of the largest Croatian peninsula of Istria, the construction of the largest and most luxurious tourist settlement shal be initiated next year. The project title is “Brijuni rivijera” and the worth of the investment is one billion of Euros. The Croatian Government has given the support to the Project, so in the beautiful part of Istria at the end of 2007 the constructional works should commence on the luxury hotel resorts with five or more stars, the marines for mega yachts, five golf fields, villas, apartments and top quality restaurants.

The Fascinating Brijuni

In the residential and luxury accomodation, intended for the European elite, about 7200 beds and 350 apartments are planned, and at Brijuni Islands another 800 beds both in the new and the existing but completely reconstructed hotels. The Brijuni islands were also fascinating for ex Yugoslavian dictator Tito who often enjoyed his free time there and used to invite guests as well. Among others, he hosted the great American director and actor Orson Wales. Also the first Croatian President Franjo Tuđman adored Brijuni and had often reposed there. The new project shall additionally spur the interest for these islands, and it would be no wonder if numerous world famous political leaders and other music, film or sport celebrities determin this area as their vacation site.

Mainly, another important fact for Croatia besides the most exclusive and most luxurious tourist settlement in the Mediterranean is gaining about 4000 new work posts. The Government has also initiated a remarkable basic investment resource of the association established in 2003 by consigning 550 thousand hectares for usage. Therefore the Government has got the majority ownership share of two thirds, and the District of Istarska has got one third.

The international contest

The “Brijuni rivijera” project includes also the area of Veli Brijun with the National park where the construction will not be allowed. But the international contest shall be bidden for the concession on 670 thousand square meters, where the future actions shall be under the management of Croatian Ministry of Culture. The Management of “Brijuni rivijera” Enterprise ensure us that numerous world Hotel chains are highly interested in constructions within the Project. For the time being they do not want to reveal which ones they are, they just state that the capital ones are in the matter.
