about Međugorje

Gibson is allegedly going to make a feature-documentary trilogy about Međugorje and the messages of Our Lady

In Fr. Jozo’s office we were first acquainted with the news that the Hollywood script-writer Carol Cook spent several months of last year in Široki Brijeg and Međugorje writing the script for the new film of Mel Gibson.

Presently there is not much information on the content of the film. But we found out that the film is going to deal with the messages of Our Lady and the Međugorje phenomenon. According to the indications it is going to be a feature documentary, maybe even a trilogy, directed by Mel Gibson, who is supposed to be coming to the Hercegovinian shrine at some stage. This piece of information was confirmed in the office of Fr. Jozo Zovko,

although even they do not know the exact date when Mel Gibson and his team will arrive in Međugorje.

The script writer Carol Cook used to be a classical part of Hollywood glamour – associated with designer garments, fancy cars, parties and everlasting flurry. Life was basically that way until the September 11th 2001, when it was turned upside down. Watching the news she saw the first Tower's fall, and phoned some associates who were in the other one. While she was talking to one of them on a direct phone line, the plane hit the Tower and she heard the screams of horror and panic. This became her nightmare from then on, until at one moment she turned to prayer. She soon found out about the apparitions of Our Lady and went to Međugorje. Deeply moved with what she saw and experienced, she returned to Međugorje in August of last year and started writing the script for Gibson's film. And in October 2005 she attended a seminar held by Fr. Jozo Zovko.
